We thought it would be fun to do a short Q&A for you guys! We hand selected a variety of design-related questions to help you get to know us a bit better! Let us know what you think. We love Q&A's and plan to do another highlighting some of the frequently asked questions we receive in-the-field, stay tuned!
Q: What is one iconic piece of furniture you'd love to own?
The Eames lounge chair and ottoman. I'd love to design an office around that one! -Courtney
Q: What is your favorite project you have worked on?
There have been so many over the years, but one that stands out in my mind is the first project I ever designed right out of school with my boss at the time. It was a restaurant called Osterio Posto. I believe it's still around and doing well, I hope COVID hasn't affected them terribly. If you are ever in Waltham, MA you should definitely check it out! -Sarah
Q: Where do you find most of your design inspiration?
Our surroundings, there is inspiration everywhere you look! I love driving through different neighborhoods to look at houses and traveling to new cities to explore local boutique hotels to pull inspiration for our interior projects. -Courtney
Q: What inspires you the most?
It feels cliche to say, but honestly, our clients. Every project is new and different because of YOU! A lot of design is universal but each project is unique because it represents our clients' personality. I find people to be inherently interesting and love to celebrate what brings people joy and happiness -Sarah
Q: Favorite design trend?
Everything and anything GREEN (not just the color!). I can't get enough of eucalyptus right now! -Courtney
Q: Best lessons learned in the field?
Always check your measurements!! You can't eliminate every mistake but triple checking your measurements is a great place to start! -Sarah
Q: Best career advice you have received?
There is room for everyone to succeed. It's important to be yourself and exercise your creativity daily. -Sarah
Q: What appliance in your kitchen can you not live without? What design feature do you wish your kitchen had?
My coffee makers. Making an iced coffee is the first thing I do when I wake up. I can't live without my iced coffee in my ninja with a shot of espresso from my Nespresso. I love re-creating my favorite Starbucks drinks. When we have the chance to renovate our kitchen I would love to have a built-in coffee maker with all the bells and whistles! -Courtney
Q: What is your favorite room in your house?
My bedroom. I think it's imperative to create a peaceful, zen-like environment for your bedroom to help create a space where you can relax and feel rejuvenated. I love my meditation and sleep! -Sarah
Q: What would be your dream project?
To design and build a custom home, with no limitations! I would love to design the layout, select every finish from the most basic wall paint color to the most ornate tile design, and go crazy with every detail down to the light switches & electrical plates! -Courtney
